About Medea

"A blazing Sophie Okonedo makes this spartan production a must-see" Evening Standard

"Ben Daniels is superb in each role” The Guardian

What could turn a woman from a lover into a destroyer of love?

Medea tells the story of a woman laid bare by grief and rage, and her terrible quest for revenge against the men who have abandoned her.

Sophie Okonedo brings her visceral, mercurial brilliance to literature’s most titanic female protagonist, whose complexity and contradictions have kept audiences on the edge of their seats, unable to look away, for almost 2,500 years.

Slow, Refreshing, Great acting, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if you are happy to see a play for terrific acting rather than set, catchy story, etc. (3 people on stage flinging emotions at each other here)

Don’t see it if you could get upset over verbal descriptions of graphic violence or if you won't enjoy a play that slowly builds up to a dramatic conclusion

Spare staging, Outstanding performances, Powerful theater

See it if you're interested in a riveting, unforgettable, take on the Greek tragedy with strong lead performances and interesting directorial touches.

Don’t see it if you're expecting a large production: this is an intimate setting with minimal sets & costumes, also if Greek tragedy is not your idea of fun

Shocking, Classic, Great staging, Masterful performances, Absorbing

See it if you want to see sublime performances. Great narrative with excellent staging choices that create tension and atmosphere on stage. Gripping.

Don’t see it if you want action, as it is a Greek Tragedy, the performance is focused on the spoken word.
